DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY
Born in England to Irish parents, Martin McDonagh was forced to leave his studies and to seek his life from the age of 16, when his parents returned to Ireland and left him in London with his older brother (screenwriter John McDonagh). He subsisted on the basis of social aids and small jobs, while dreaming of engaging in literature and writing works for radio and television that were not accepted. In 1994-95, he began to create plays that would bring him to fame.
In summer, he met with his parents in Galway (Ireland), where they lived, a holiday that allowed him to become familiar with the local dialect. He will use it in many of his works to ironize and emphasize not only the aspect of Irish rural life, but also his particular poetry.
