ACTOR BIOGRAPHY
(Medina de Rioseco, Valladolid, June 21, 1918 - Aranjuez, Madrid, May 2, 1996) is a spanish actress of stage, screen and television.
Throughout her career she participated in over 60 theatrical productions and more than one hundred films, though usually as supporting actress.
From birth she has been involved with theater since her father was part of a theater company. On stage she has performed countless works among which are Casa de muñecas, Un enemigo del pueblo, Casa de muñecas and Las bicicletas son para el veráno, for which she won the María Guerrero Award.
She make her film debut in 1952 with her role in La estrella de Sierra Morena, following with movies that were very representative of the Spanish film such as El pisito and El cochecito by Marco Ferreri, El verdugo by Jose Luis Berlanga, La ciudad no es para mí by Pedro Lazaga or El extraño viaje, directed by Fernando Ferrán Gómez.ç
The following decades she appears in titles like Camada negra by Manuel Gutiérrez de Aragón, La Colmena by Mario Camus or La Vaquilla by Luis García Berlanga.
On television she took part in Fortunata y Jacinta, Farmacia de guardia and La Regenta.
She received a Goya Award in 1996 for what would be her last film acting, shortly before her death, in Canción de cuna, directed by José Luis Garci.
