ACTOR BIOGRAPHY
José Sacristán (Chinchón, Madrid, 1937). actor and spanish film director.
His beginnings in the interpretation were in the theater. As for the cinema, in the decade of 60 he plays as a supporting actor in La familia… y uno más (1965) and La ciudad no es para mí (1966), among other films.
In the 70s he work on the films of the genre ""landismo"" with actor Alfredo Landa.
In the 80s he works in Pantaleón y las visitadoras (1980), film adapted from the novel by Mario Vargas Llosa, La Colmena (1982), adaptation of the writer Camilo Jose Cela, La Vaquilla (1985) by Luis García Berlanga and El viaje a ninguna parte (1986), under the orders of Fernando Fernan Gomez.
In those years he directed and starred Soldados de plomo (1983), Cara de acelga (1987) y Yo me bajo en la próxima ¿y usted? (1992).
After this works, he turned his attention to the theater.
Some of his latest feature films are Todos a la cárcel (1993), Roma (2004) y El muerto y ser feliz (2012), for which role he won the Goya to the best actor.
In 2013 he joined the team of the Antena 3 TV series Velvet.
One of the many award received in his career is the Silver Shell at the Film Festival San Sebastian received in 1978 for his role in Un hombre llamado Flor de Otoño.
Thanks to The La colmena (1982) he will won the first of his four Fotogramas de Plata. In 2011 he will receive the Film Critics Association of Argentina Silver Condor Award for his life's labor.
